Donations to the University of Utah Muscular Dystrophy Research Fund are used entirely and exclusively for advancing research in muscular dystrophy, with the goal of developing meaningful therapies. Current projects include work directed toward optimizing the use of antisense oligonucleotides to treat Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy due to duplications in the dystrophin gene. Funds donated through Cure for Carson are used to pay for technician's salaries and supplies for this and related projects. These donations go directly to the Muscular Dystrophy Research Fund, and no money is used for fundraising or promotional activities. |
