It's time for our second Widow Maker Challenge! As many of you know, I participate in fundraising for Muscular Dystrophy to help find a cure for my nephew, Carson. Carson has a rare from of MD. We are fortunate enough to have a doctor at the University of Utah that is researching a cure for Carson’s specific type of MD. THIS IS NOT FOR THE MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY ASSOCIATION (MDA).ALL FUNDS WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH DEPARTMENT OF GENETICS, AND WILL FUND RESEARCH THAT WILL DIRECTLY AFFECT CARSON AND ULTIMATELY CURE HIM OF THIS HORRIBLE DISEASE. Last year, we made our first climb and made it all the way to 400 feet! This year, we are attempting to climb the 550 ft. Pro-Qualifer Hill! This year, we have formed a Cure for Carson Widow Maker team. Our goal is to raise enough money to fund one scientist to do research on Carson's cell line for one year -- $50,000!!
On June 21 and 22, our team will be attempting to climb a 550 foot near-vertical hill named “Widow Maker” on our dirt bikes. To learn more about this hill go to their website- www.widowmaker.info.
We are looking for people willing to pledge donations to team members based on how far up the hill we can actually climb. We plan to go full throttle and hang on for life, so plan on a decent distance. We will make two attempts at climbing this hill. Your donation will be based upon the distance of the best of the two attempts. Please see the donation form below and send in your pledge. No money needed at this point, just a pledge to donate. After we climb and have an official distance, we'll contact everyone with their total donation amount.
Please make your checks payble to the University of Utah Department of Human Genetics. All donations go straight to the U of U Department of Genetics. There is ABSOLUTELY NO PROFIT FROM THIS. All registration fees and costs associated with this will come out of MY pocket, not yours. I want your donation to go 100% toward research. Checks must be made out to University Of Utah Department Of Human Genetics.

It is time once again for our annual "Cure For Carson" Ride for a cure held at Widow Maker in Ogden UT on June 21st 2008. This year Rick is going to try to climb the 550ft hill to raise money for Carson's fund. We have attached a pledge form and hope that you find it in your hearts to sponsor Rick and give him a great incentive to climb all the way up.
Brenden is also going to ride the small hill so if anyone would like to sponsor him as well that would be great. He is so excited.
No need to send money now, just fill our the form with the riders name on top and your pledge amount and we will send you an invoice when we get the results back from Widow Maker. Please make sure you fill out your name and address along with an email address so that we can contact you in July.
